Tabletop accessories for fine dining and all-day-dining at St. Regis Doha
Middle East’s leading hotel, St. Regis Doha, enriched the city’s dining scene with 10 new restaurants, catering to the tastes of fine diners and casual dining fans. In this post we share with you another successful story of tabletop accessories designs for the hotel’s refined “Astor Grill” dining concept and “Vine” all day dining venue.
Tabletop accessories for Astor Grill
“Astor Grill” is St. Regis Doha’s signature in-house creation, conceptualized as fine dining restaurant and a tribute to the Astor family (the founders of the original St. Regis hotel in New York). The restaurant offers a twist on the classic steakhouse concept, with a modernized interpretation of the traditional Escoffier-style French cuisine. The venue’s interior is an interesting fusion of chic retro dining with contemporary architectural elements and subtle Middle Eastern accents.
Glass Studio worked with the restaurant’s team on designing tabletop accessories that enrich the tabletop presentation and accentuate the contemporary ambiance. Our designs included items such as statement napkin rings in soft triangular shape, sugar holder and large serving platters.
The designs were based on a cold color palette of silver and black, with a crackled pattern incorporated in the square serving platters and sugar holders, to emphasize the modern style of the venue.
Restaurant dinnerware for all day dining at Vine
“Vine” is St. Regis Doha’s five-star all-day dining restaurant, offering international cuisine with a Californian twist. The restaurant’s concept is inspired by the unique interpretation of the traditional Mediterranean cuisine that comes from the California’s Napa Valley. The emphasis is on organic produce and eclectic international menu that spans across the continents.
Our designs for this venue included a wide range of tableware to accommodate the needs of an all day dining restaurant: from buffetware for the restaurant’s signature Friday brunch service to stylish bread and butter plates, napkin rings and small appetizer plates.
The color palette for the tabletop setup items such as bread and butter plates and napkin rings was based on warm golden hues with matte finish that complement the restaurant’s decor in soft neutral colors.
One of the most interesting designs in this section is the concept for small appetizer plates for amuse bouche. The plates were created in clear glass with a subtle yet eye-catching “leaf” pattern in a golden color along the edge of the irregular shaped plate.
The items for the buffet section such as buffet salad bowls, dressing bowls and fruit bowls were designed in transparent glass in a variety of shapes, from classic geometric ones to beautiful irregular forms that enhance the food presentation.
