Glass Studio took part in the resort opening project and created dinnerware designs for several of hotel’s restaurants. In this article we present our designs for Saffron’s table setting.
Table Setting for Saffron
Saffron is a specialty dining venue, specializing in Thai cuisine and authentic Southeast Asian flavors. Saffron is designed to create warm dining atmosphere while honoring the Oriental tradition of style and hospitality .
The restaurant features wood as the primary element of design, which is present in decorative wall panels, mahogany floors and dining furniture. The warm color of the wood is paired with accents of green and pastel pink and peach tones featured in tabletop design.
Table setting designed by Glass Studio for this dining venue includes pieces such as glass show plates, dining plates and side or bread and butter plates. The color used in dinnerware design is warm orange, and accent was placed on discreet yet elegant pattern on the corners of the plates. Show plates were designed in clear glass with orange pattern placed diagonally on corners, while bread and butter plates were designed in orange color with pattern gleaming through the hints of transparent surfaces.
Dinnerware designs for this venue centered on elegant square shapes, and square dinnerware complemented the forms of interior elements across the venue.
This simple yet elegant style for a table setting complimented the traditional Thai food menu, giving a hint of Oriental atmosphere through colors, shapes and patterns.
